Focus area 3: Mobility

Mobility - working on the go - is in our vision the new way of working. About

Throughout the last twenty years the founder of Openhanced has acquired a profound knowledge of mobile technology, Web 2.0 technology and web services. Operating under different business names the focus has always been technology and in multiple projects mobile technology.

Mobile devices are used extensively by the new mobile workforce and Openhanced believes that the daily work routine will heavily depend on mobile devices in the near future. We tend to call this the second wave after the Apple Appstore first wave. Consumers have paved the way in the first wave for Enterprises to integrate all the trendy devices into a corporate environment. Smartphones are alive and kicking and will stay! New concepts like the iPhone tablet will transform even more desktop workers into mobile workers.

Our name Openhanced is a combination of Open (Data) and Enhanced (applications) mobile applications. As Openhanced we focus on three key areas:

- Open Source – we strive to use freely available tools to realize parts of web- or mobile projects;
- Open Data/APIs – we combine Enterprise data with freely (or rate limited) available external APIs that provide access to important data;
- Mobility – it is our goal to provide solutions on mobile devices that leverage Open Data/APIs and location information. Right now we target three mobile platforms: Android, iPhone and Windows Phone.

Through a partnership (also part Shareholder) we have the possibility to deeply integrate into a new mobile network in The Netherlands, this company is called SIMpathiek (still stealth).
